pellet grill help
« Reply #-1 on: August 16, 2016, 02:22:00 PM »
Hello all! So I am looking to get a pellet smoker. I currently have a traeger junior, however it has run it's course and I'm looking to replace it. Up till now my two choices are the 2016 traeger pro series 22, or the mini rec tec, which looks exactly like the traeger junior. I don't have lots of porch space because I live in a condo, so a small one will have to do. I was hoping someone could give me some idea between the two or which one might be better. Thanks!

Never cooked on a RecTec mini but my 680 holds set temp perfectly and I could not be more pleased with its performance. I've had it for just over a year and not one single problem to date.

Either one of the Rec-Tec's should do a fine job for you.

My 680 has been perfect so far with no complaints

Have the Rec Tec Mini and although I have modified it several times, it works great! The controller is the best and it is well built unit. I have posted several videos under "tomcrete" feel free to take a look! I can't really compare to other pellet grills since this is the only one I have owned.  Good Luck  :)

You think the 680 would fit on a small porch?

WOW! That's nice! You have lot's of space there is no way that would fit on my porch! lol. So i'll probably stick to the mini if I choose rec tec.

It fits on the 5 foot wide space with no issues,  but the mini may be a better choice for you.

Just to give you a better view of the 8x5 space   two SRG's and a home built pellet SRG

Yeah trust me, I don't have enough room haha! My porch is pretty narrow. Plus it's just me by myself and I don't think I need the larger one.
