You will most likely want to invest in a downdraft baffle to help even out the temps and get the smoke down to grate level.

They're about $60 + shipping here:  http://dongodkesdowndraft.com/

I'd go for the Maverick; they are rock solid.  And IMHO, I think the Bear Claws are a waste of money.

All in all, it looks like you're good to go!

Know anything about his site: http://shop.pelletgrillaccessories.com/product.sc?productId=258&categoryId=8

The downdraft at that site is ~$55 and all stainless steel. Seems like a better deal.

I have gotten hoods for Rec Tec, GMG and Traeger from them and they are well made.

Did you purchase from dongodkesdowndraft.com or pelletgrillaccessories.com?  Sorry it is confusing since your quote included both websites.

I added the downdraft hood from Pellet Grill Accessories based on the recommendation of HighonSmoke and it works great.  Only problem is if you cannot add the shelf kit without some modification.

Also replace the Roanoke with one of my Savannah Stokers and now have much more adjustability, programed cooks and adjust pit temps on the internet while interfaced with Rock's Stoker.

Are you talking about the Pro Shelf Unit?  http://www.blazngrillworks.com/pro-shelves/

If you are, let me ask...what do you need all that space for?  It is a newbie question but I haven't really smoked anything except for two times on a WSM and a few times on my Weber Kettle.

Yes and when I do a cooks for the Church Charity I use to both smokers but if I had the shelf unit I could get by with one so thinking about purchasing one.

Also family requires three rakes of spare ribs but if any friends or extended family shows up I need 6 racks at least. :) :)

Picture of the downdraft hood on my Grid Iron and takes about 5 minutes to install.
