Great points Tee. We are just not equipped right now for that kind of outlay. Wendy and I are both finally working again and we got a hole to dig ourselves out of. I promise, if the GMG doesn't work out it will be a MAK........and The Smoke never breaks a promise.........

I understand  Smoke. And - let me throw this out there...There is the MAK 1 Star, which is not a compromise in  reliability or capability - and the internal space is more than adequate....But it is priced much closer to the GM...... ;)

After a restless nights sleep, I think I will start researching the one star. Heck, I guess the hole we are in could handle a couple more shovels full..... ;)

That's the spirit! Good research is sooo much cheaper than the long lasting effect of dis-satisfaction from a choice hastened. ;) ;D

Smoke, keep in mind the new 2017 MAK 1 Star is now the same size as the 2 Star, so you will not be sacrificing ANY space at all, especially if you get a 3/4 or full upper rack.

The new 1 Star also has the new FlashFire ignitor, Ash clean out, pellet dump door, and you can add some of the other features (FlameZone, MAK Griddle, etc.) later as budget allows.

You will simply not be disappointed!

I prefer the side shelf so it's easier to get up to the food.   The pellet hopper also acts as a side shelf.

One more thought; Yes the MAK's going to cost you a few more $$, but I promise when you get it and can feel and see the difference in quality, you will understand why they are priced where they are.  There are simply no corners cut at all on a MAK
