Pacific Pellet Gourmet BBQ Pellets
« Reply #-1 on: April 10, 2018, 06:48:42 PM »
Does anybody have any experience with these? They say they are made with 100% hardwood, no binders, and no oil additives. They are 70% alder and the other 30% is flavored hardwood. They come in hickory, mesquite, apple, cherry, maple, championship blend and alder. I believe I read where you want a oak based pellet because they burn hotter, but not sure on that.

Same answer here.   Alder is really good for smoking fish though.

They are junk.

When I was pellet testing for Simi Pellet Grills they performed terribly. Did not get hot enough. Poor consumption. Tons of ash.

Stay away my friend, stay away.

This is the only pellet one of the local BBQ retailers in our area will sell. Claims they are accepted by all manufactures when it comes to warranty issues. They are made in Redmond Oregon but shipped all over. They do have a web site if you want to see what they have to say about themselves. No personal experience but I would not hesitate to give them a try.

Well, if it is the only pellet I could get, I would use them.

All I know is, this brand of pellets underperformed during our testing.

We tested:

Lumberjack

Perfect Mix

Green Mountain Grills

Milts

Camp Chef.

Side note:  Milts went out of business.  Green Mountain Grills Gold blend is an excellent pellet.

Look on Craigslist, that's where i get mine. Or Walmart, sporting goods store, farm store. I wouldn't go to a BBQ store, they will charge way too much. My opinion of course.

I understand what your saying but I did not buy any pellet there but did notice the price was under $10.00 for 20lbs. I've been running Bear Mountain pellets and they perform much better than Traeger pellets which we have used at times in the past. You want pellets that disappoint get the stuff Bi-Mart sells.  ;)
