Tommy, I have experienced this 3 times. What I did was take the last broken igniter off the PID and plugged it directly into the wall. I made myself an electrical outlet duplex box with a light switch and wired the hot rod directly into 110 volts (no fuse). After I did this, it went from not working at all to working faster and apparently hotter than when the controller was controlling it. It comes on when I flip the light switch. All I have to do is remember to turn the switch off after the fire box is smoking heavily. Now, I highly don't recommend anyone else do this because I don't even use a fuse. But it is working great for me for the last couple of years and I haven't burnt out a hot rod since I did this. I know everybody will think that this is crazy, but my name is IR2dum....'nuff said.
P.S. - I took my GFCI out of the circuit, also. Kids, don't do this at home, I am a professional screw up.
