Tomahawk Steak and Spot Shrimp
« Reply #-1 on: February 18, 2019, 03:58:56 PM »
When I was at the local grocery store looking for something to cook for Valentine's Day I spotted Tomahawk steaks for $7 an lb, instead of the regular price of $15a lb.  I couldn't pass that up.   I have never seen this grocery store to carry the cut before.

Decided to cook on GMG and reverse sear on the Webber.

I cooked them on the GMG for about 2 hours @ 180 with AmazeN smoke tube burning, then seared on the Webber for about 3 minutes a side.

These turned out really good, if I can find the steak I will be cooking them again.

Steak

Seasoned

Off the Webber

Sliced

Plated with spot shrimp and mushrooms.  The shrimp was cooked on webber and mushrooms pan fried.

Hold the shrimp!  My gout won't allow me to eat any shellfish.  Supposed to take it easy on the beef (gout again), but that is about the right size.  I can make that work.  Looks scrumptious!!

I've seen them at Sam's but have pulled the trigger yet.  After seeing your, that's gonna change ! ! !

Art, if you haven't yet, consider Allopurinol.  I've been gout free for over 15 years.
