Need advice on making a beef top sirloin
« Reply #-1 on: August 11, 2019, 05:19:05 PM »
Afternoon fellow BBQers.

I want to make a 3 lb beef top sirloin roast on my pellet grill today.

Any tips including temp for the smoker, and IT times would be greatly appreciated. Also do I just set it directly on the grill grate or in a pan.

Thank you in advance!

I've never actually cooked one of these, but as I recall, they are a cut where you don't want to go too far.  Cook it more medium-rare to medium.  As opposed to a Chuck Roast that you are going to run up to or over 200º.

If you want the dripping for anything, and I usually do, try for some sort of pan arrangement.  Otherwise you're just letting all of that lovely liquid go to waste.

Good luck, and let's see how it came out.

Turned out awesome!
Took the IT to 135 and pulled it. Let it sit, tented, for 10 minutes then sliced it.
I like mine a lil more rare but the wife likes it more done. Happy wife happy life right?

That looks great. What temp did you cook it at and how long did it take to get to 135?
Love to cook and eat
