Homemade New York style bagels
« Reply #-1 on: April 10, 2021, 06:07:07 PM »
I love bagels.
Buttered, or schmeared with cream cheese, or maybe with an egg, cheese, & bacon. Makes a great breakfast.
I could eat one almost every morning.
But buying them from a bagel shop (or Starbucks) can get a bit pricey.
So I make my own.

I had to try one before I took the pictures.
They are actually much better the next day though.
Some were a bet shy on toppings. I found I had not mixed up enough.

I love bagels too.  I order mine from Just Bagels in the Bronx.  Yours look every bit as good.

Care to share your recipe and technique?

The recipe I use is actually one I got off of the internet. (link below)
I have used this one for several years, deviating slightly from it over the years.
If you use the recipe as written you will make some great tasting bagels.
Try it & let me know what you think. ;)
