Jerky, No flame, Help
« Reply #-1 on: March 21, 2013, 08:18:16 AM »
Mother-n-Law purchases some meet and didn't know what do to do with it.  Give it to me I want to make jerky.  My 1st attempt so a bit nervous anyway.  went to stick it on the Mak and no smoke.  aaaahhhhhhhhh.  You can do this.  Lets just cold smoke and then finish in the oven.

lets call up the Mak guys, a couple tips later and got it figured out to the igniter and they would have it on the way.  but in the mean time just add a little hand sanitizer to a hand full of pellets and when she starts flaming turn it on and away it goes.

Finished up the jerky.  a little over done :(  Not too bad but defiantly could use some more trial and error.

What is this?

I do live up the road a bit from them (WA) but dang that was fast.

Amazing Customer Service.

The jerky looks fine from here! Now you've got me wanting to make some.

Good deal on the ignitor rod getting to you so quickly. You'll be amazed at how easy it is to change out in the MAK 1 star; less than 10 minutes and you will be done!

Jerky was ok. Think I let it go to long. First batch so guess it can't be perfect right out of he gate, but at least I can eat my mistakes.
