Introduction from Arnold, MO
« Reply #-1 on: March 28, 2013, 02:53:51 PM »
I just wanted to say hello and let you all know how much I enjoy your forum. I just joined a few days ago but I've been sneaking in and reading for a few weeks now. I'm grew up just south of St. Louis and spent most of my summers in the Ozarks hunting and fishing.

I've been a backyard griller all of my life, my grandparents had a farm so fresh meat and a hot fire pit were part of growing up. I've never been into any competition grilling but I have gotten a lot more serious the last few years with the grilling for family and friends. Bought my first smoker last year, started making my own rubs and sauces this year so I'm slowly branching out.

I'm taking the next step from charcoal to a pellet grill in the next few weeks which is a big investment for me and the family. We grill almost every night and smoke on the weekends when time permits. I'm really looking forward to it based on a lot of what I've read here. I've already talked to a few folks here and everyone has been very helpful.

Again I just wanted to say hello and tell you all how much I appreciate you sharing your ideas and recipes, I think I already have enough to keep me busy for the summer.  ;D

Thanks again,

Welcome!
I'm about 120 miles up I-55 from you..

What kind of pellet pit are you looking at?

I think I'm going to go with the Rec Tec for my first grill, I'm going to look at a few others this weekend but I think that is just a formality. From everything I've seen and read online it seems like a really good fit for me and I've learned in the past to trust my gut, especially when it comes to food.  ;D
