UW & tri
« Reply #-1 on: April 15, 2013, 01:20:00 PM »
okie dokie.  welp, I love me some tri tip.  living in cali tri tip to us is like filet to most folks.  if you cook tri well it taste better than steak and a lot cheaper too.  and we get them all the time from Costco.

fired up my chimney and away we go.

UW is brand new and already mess up.  its got dirt on it, grass clipping and spilled beer.  ok, now it part of the family.

set up for cooking tri's.

charcoals not gray enough.  better have another FT.

I never ever let someone season my protein.  my son came home w/ this.  fine, I'll cook it.

everyone in the pool!

I had to add some of my own seasoning to it.

nothing wrong w/ smoky, smoky.

getting a good crust on it.  perfect.

after I get a good crust on both sides I let her ride in-direct (see, split coals up) until 135°.

looking good maynard.

were done.  ya......

{time lapsed photography}

that was fun.  ok, dinner time.

I love tri tip.  so good all the time.  thanks for stopping by.  no dogging bags allowed.

Funny about the seasoned tri-tip. I looked at the pictures and then read the story. Thought you had a head injury that caused you to buy the preseasoned one ;)

Beautiful tri-tip sir!

Fantastic lookin' TT.  Costco is hit or miss around here on availability but Restaurant Depot has 'em and I always pick up a 3 pack or two when I'm there.  I agree, it's a great cut of meat and one of my favorites!
