Whole Wheat Pizza on the Boone
« Reply #-1 on: July 13, 2013, 09:57:05 PM »
Went with a whole wheat crust today. And, coupled with several excellent tips from Old Dave, (Thank You!) things came out pretty good. Always room for improvement tho.
As per Dave, I took everything out of the grill and found that the grates from my Char-Broil IR grill fit perfect depth-wise over fire-box.
It ended up being 17"X 18"  which worked great because I have a stone 18"X18". I preheated everything for about an hour at 375F. Rolled out and assembled the pie, slid it onto the stone and something magical happened.....our neighborhood Cooper's Hawk took her three youngsters out for their evening meal. Look out squirrels! Sorry no pics of that, but maybe soon. They are soooo fast! The pie, along with a few cold beverages made for a nice Summer meal.

LOL CDN, we are making twice baked potatoes this evening.....you inspired us, and we hope ours are 1/2 as good as yours looked!
As for your pizza, I'm certain you'll do well!  Is this your first foray with your new steel and peel?
