Poll!
Small charcoal base then wood.
Lump & wood mixed
Kingsford & wood mixed

If someone can set up the poll I'd appreciate ::)

Of course, since the patio is clear and I have to fill it up. What to fill it up with?  This is a smaller offset with a 16x36 smoking chamber. I think I can get away with Kingsford and add mini splits...........

What to use for heat?

Kingsford  or   Lump
I'm unable to tell the difference in food cooked over charcoal or lump!
( it might be Im 60)
I find Kingsford to be cheap, consistent , & when I need I can get a longer unattended burn.

Not to influence anyones vote, but I just talked to Yoder and they said Kingsford used as a base to heat up the cooker and then going with warm mini-splits is a winner.............

I am of the "devil you know" opinion when it comes to charcoal.  I can always grab a bag of blue no matter when or where I run out, and with the normal Depot/Lowe's sales I don't run out often to begin with.

I voted small charcoal base then wood.

That would seem to give the most consistent controlled temps and ability to adjust the amount of smoke with the splits.
