It all started down in Socorro at the Owl Cafe where they first started serving burgers with Hatch green chili on them many years ago.

That does look great!  My favorite burger at Red Robin is the "burnin' love" which has deep fried jalapenos layered on the patty - hot as fire, but ever so flavorful as well

No probs with that great lookin' burger, but I'm in love with those REAL fries!  Mighty hard to find any place with REAL fries these days -- too labor intensive and take to long to cook.  Every now and then I make some at home.  It's worth the work  ;D

Real fries are really quite simple. I fill a cast iron pan with about 1 1/2 inches of oil and then fill it with fries. I take the fries out and sprinkle them with salt and pepper on a plate layered in a paper towel. Then I refill the cast iron fryer with more fries. I turn around to test the fries on the plate and the plate is empty.

I have also sprinkled the fries with a rub mixture that inclues cayenne pepper and chili powder and slight amount of cumin. Then I take some crushed bacon and sprinkle that on top of the fries. After that, I take some chili con queso pop that in the microwave and spill it all over the fries.

And if you think that is good, some day I will give you my recipe for potato Latkes.

I have one of those defective plates, maybe two  ::)
