Ahhh... brings back memories of my first try with Pizza on the Weber Kettle. You are spot on about doing it indirect next time.

The wife made a couple of pitchers of margaritas so...

At least you had a better backup plan than I did! ;)

When I worked at Pizza Hut the oven we had cooked a pizza in around 5 minutes. It is on a conveyor and hot air is blown down from little holes above. That seems to be the key to making a pizza fast.

Sorry to hear about your disaster Ed but I think you should give it a try in the Yoder since it is convection cooking. I think you will be very impressed.

I want that pizza oven that Deb has! I will get it this year ;)

muebe - that's funny... I worked at the Pizza Hut in Waikiki a couple centuries ago. We didn't have the fancy ovens - traditional pizza ovens. We shot for 13 minutes per pizza... checking in 1 bra'..  ;) ;D

Actually, my wife after 30 years knows me too well and she would never let my margarita glass empty. Every time I turned around, I had a full margarita staring at me. I had to drive our friends home who came to sample pizza because they couldn't drive.

Hey, I learned how to do this correctly. All that I can tell you, is follow your instincts and what your gut tells you. My big mistake.

I saved one of the balls of dough and froze it. Sometime this week, I am going to thaw that dough and let it rise again. The dough will rise again. Then I am going to test it. That Weber has great capabilities and I just have to learn about it's potential. Sparky1 has that thing down pat and he can probably do just about whatever he wants to do with it.

That is life.

Ed
