Kettlepizza - Cooking Pizza part 3
« Reply #-1 on: September 17, 2013, 10:21:07 PM »
Well, after making some very nice dough today, I saved 2 of the dough balls to make pizza tonight on the Kettlepizza. I just have to find out how this is going to work. I watched a lot of videos on YouTube over the last 3 days about the Kettlepizza, about making dough, about spreading the dough into pizza formations, about cooking the pizza on the Kettlepizza, about setting up the Weber, about setting up the charcoal in the weber, about placing the wood on the coals, about turning the pizza on the Kettlepizza so it would not burn on one side, and about the duration or cooking times of the pizza on the Kettlepizza. I must admit, that my wife and I very pleased with the results. The pizza I made is a lot better than the commercial stuff in the pizza joints of today.

We like our pizzas in the traditional manner. We place olive oil on the dough, cover the dough with sauce and then proceed to add onions, peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, hamburger, and mozzarella. After tasting our pizza, the crust was excellent. However, my wife and I both agreed that we should sprinkle the sauce after it is applied to the pizza with additional Italian Seasoning. Minced garlic would also be a nice addition along with a little spinach. And, of course, sausage is a good add for the flavor spike with more Italian Seasoning. That will be next time and there will be a next time.

In addition, I am going to wait a little longer before I put the pizza on as I want to make sure that the pizza stone also catches up in temperature to the pit. The crust was fantastic. I don't usually eat the crust on the ends but this one was just perfect. This crust was just the way my wife and I like it, had a lot of good flavor, and just enough crispness with a nice soft interior. It was puffed up to make it light and tasty at the same time.

I would recommend that you purchase the pizza spinners from Kettlepizza if you decide to get this attachment. I ordered mine on Friday and they should be here on Thursday. They will be an asset in order to turn the pizza 180 degrees so that it browns on all sides evenly. One more piece of information: it only took five minutes to cook the pizza.

I am glad that I bought this attachment for the Weber. I am more than satisfied and excited about making more pizzas for the family this Sunday and in the future. This is fun! Especially when the results are so good and better than expected.

Here is a video of the process which I hope you enjoy.

I answered this question once before on another thread but (LOL)  ;D I cannot remember which one. The product that I use is Corel Video Studio Pro6. It took me about 8 hours of learning time to really get to use the basic functions. It has a lot more function than I take advantage and every time that I bring it up, I learn something new. I have to use "color correction" a lot because my el cheapo pocket video camera is quite elementary. I may get a nicer camera in December which has built in WiFi.

Look up on Google: "top ten video editors". I had Roxio NXT but it is complicated, full of functionality as it is rated number 1 and difficult to use. Corel was rated number 2 and rated the highest in easiest to use.

Their own advertisements don't even come close to the outstanding job on the videos!

Now I want one.

Beautiful pies Ed! I'd like a fresh tomato, onion, garlic, green pepper and black olive. FT on the side.
Good job my friend!

Hey Smoke,

Now that you are "back in the saddle again" you can get one of these and all of the other wonderful attachments on the Weber.

You will probably spend more on collective attachments than the original purchase of the Weber.

Once you make your own pizzas, (that only cost a couple of $ to make), you may want to make your own. Not too many real good Italian pizza parlors in the San Antonio area. But, I can get you a real great chili rellano.
