ABT's Sausage filled on the RED
« Reply #-1 on: December 18, 2013, 08:17:02 PM »
Got a little get together with coworkers tomorrow and I decided to go with some ABT’s.

1 lb Italian sausage
Bunch of jalapenos
Couple packs of cream cheese
¼ cup of Parmesan
¼ cup sour cream
BACON – Yes Bacon

Jalapenos seeded the way Mike (Muebe) does them

Save some for the mix, not too much, this stuff is hot.

Mix all of the stuff together

Ready to go

On the grill

About 30-40 minutes later and they are ready to go.
Hot but good.

Love to cook and eat

Those look really tasty, RAD!  On an aside, I like heat in many other dishes, but do not often have fresh jalapenos at hand - mincing up the membranes and seeds, then freezing makes for fresh tasting heat in small doses - you can take a pinch out of the freezer any time you want that distinctive jalapeno heat

My wife looked at the seeds and she wanted to save it for chili. Next time I will do like you suggested and chop and freeze for later.

One thing I left out - Make sure to cook the sausage before mixing it with the other stuff.

Really nice abt's.. I grow my own and stand them up in a popper holder..I even won 3rd place with my poppers from women on the bbq forum. I like them any way you fix them. I dry my seeds and membranes then chop them up and add to my collection. After dehydrating I store them in a Ziploc bag, gotta love the guy that invented them, then I run them thru a coffee grinder for my fried corns.

Those look good.
like the idea of just splitting them open instead of cutting in 1/2  and you still have a handle with the stem.

Looks very good, next time try habanero for that extra kick!

I made some for Kimmie one time and all she tried was the bacon, but she did have tears in her eyes. Not sure if the heat got her or they were that good  ;) ;) ;)

Great job on those ABTs RAD.

I'm a wuss when it comes to hot stuff like jalapenos but my Son and Granddaughter would wolf those down in a minute ... Thanks for posting ... I need to make them some ABTs  :)
