Smoked Sausage for my S.C. Bog

Jan 18 2014

It was just 20 deg. out but no wind and sunny so I smoked some of Kah Meats smoked sausage to use in some S.C. chicken bog I am making tomorrow. It took an hour and 10 minutes to get to 150 deg. IT. I was using Cookin Pellets 100% hickory and smoked at 215 deg. It was a pound and a half and will use a pound for my bog.

You will note some CD’s hanging on my deck. Some members suggested they plus some bags of moth balls hung up would keep the birds from roosting and leaving deposits! It is not working the birds are still here! I suppose I could hang CD’s all the way around. Then my Smokin Deck would look more like a Tex Mex Taco stand!  ;D

Sorry the CD idea did not work Don :-\

They hand them around the fruit trees to keep the birds from pecking at the fruit. Maybe they are not spinning enough in the wind. It is the reflective nature of the CDs that startle the birds.

The sausage looks great however ;)

Looks good.  I will politely disagree with CDN about cooking in the snow.  I swore that I would miss it.  Guess what... I don't at all!
