Sometimes leftovers can be just so so and other times very tasty. Tonight’s was very tasty! I had some Mititei and potatoes left from the other night. I also had cabbage to fry with the potatoes and some applesauce our daughter in law made.
After Ahron gave me the link for some Mujdei, Romanian garlic sauce to have with his Mititei recipe, I had to give that a try. I had a small head of organic garlic and peeled all the cloves. I chopped it up pretty fine then in a bowl I mashed it with some Hawaiian red sea salt, added a little vegetable oil and lime juice. I let that set awhile and then stirred in about two teaspoons of sour cream and then in the fridge.
At supper time I shredded some cabbage and cooked a while with the lid on and then added the potatoes and browned them up. I had 4 of the longer Mititei and 3 short ones; I wrapped them in paper towels and nuked for a minute and half. They were just right; I didn’t want to overcook them since they were already on the dry side.
I served the wife and I; she said two sausages were enough so gave her 2 of the longer ones I had two of the long and 2 of the short. I love garlic and the garlic in the Mititei and the garlic sauce makes them garlic lovers treat! My wife tried the sauce and ate another one dipping in the sauce but sparingly. I can think of a lot of ways to use the garlic sauce in future cooks; love that stuff!
