Pork loin question
« Reply #-1 on: April 19, 2014, 09:45:16 PM »
I am going to cook an 8 1/2 lb pork loin in TBE tomorrow.  Obviously, I will be cooking to IT (160) but need an idea of how long it will take.  I'm going to cook it before going to Easter Services at church and will do the towel, foil, cooler thing after it's finished.  Just need to know when to start if I want it finished by 10 AM.

Your looking at 1 1/4 hrs to 1 3/4 hrs.  Reason I give a broad range is weather, wind and meat .  Most pork will cook in te 10 to 12 min per pound so I would start no later than 7:45 am    You will have time then to FTC with time to spare

Good luck!

When she complains just point over to the microwave. A couple minutes on high should kill it ::)

I also take mine to 145. Seems to be a lot more juicier and tender at this temp.

I'm with the 145 group.  Hope it turned out well for you either way.  ;)
