Pulled Pork for Granddaughter's Girl Scout dinner
« Reply #-1 on: May 17, 2014, 01:01:22 PM »
For my Granddaughters annual Girl Scout appreciation dinner (for the parents/volunteers) I was asked again to provide Pulled Pork for 40 people.  I was more than pleased to help.  My Daughter-In-Law has become adapt at pulling pork butts so all I had to do was cook them and she picked up the cooler and did the rest  :)

Used my turbo pulled pork method which uses foil and only takes 8-9 hours vs 20+.  Works for me  8)
20 lbs of Pork Butt:
Cut each 10 lb butt in half, trimmed the fat cap, seasoned, wrapped in plastic and fridged overnight.
Hickory smoked at 225ºF for 2 hours ... bumped MAK temp to 375ºF till IT reached 160ºF.
Double wrapped butts in HD foil and back in the MAK till IT reached 205ºF.
FTC for 3 hours.

That looks outstanding. Only issue I see is you made way too much. I've been told that on average you make 1/3lb per person and it appears you made 1/2 per person. Your in luck, I am here to help ::). Let me PM you my address and you can send the leftovers to me to properly dispose of it.  ;D
Love to cook and eat

Wish that I could RAD but my DIL kept any leftovers!  I didn't even get any  :(   :D  :D

I'm a firm believer that I'd rather have more than not enough!  So I prefer to use ½ lb raw per person when I compute what I need.  Keeps everyone fed and happy  :D  :D

Hey SP - thanks for the post - I did my first pulled pork on the pellet grill today and really used a lot of your "turbo" method to complete my cook.  THANKS - it was really helpful
