Mo'-Rockin'-Chickin Wings
« Reply #-1 on: June 11, 2014, 06:30:32 PM »
Well I finally put the spoon down long enough to coat a bunch of wings with Mo'-Rockin'-Chickin rub.

In the Traeger at 450 for 30 minutes, turned them over and dialed the temp down to 350 for an additional 15 minutes.

Pulled from the Traeger after 45 minutes.  Enjoyed these beauties with a Sierra Nevada Blindfold Black IPA.  :P

I need to coat them a little heavier next time, I could taste the rub but it was a little weak.  Maybe that's because my taste buds are shot after 24 hours of mainlining this stuff.  :P

They look awesome dude!! I always rub a little extra on wings, I find the grease that comes out of them tends to take a bit of the rub with it.

What I'm thinking I'll do on the next batch is add a second coating when I turn them with 15 minutes to go at 350.

They look great!  I know how they taste because I use MR on my wings.

Question:  Why the high heat first?  I would have gone the other way and started at 350, then bump to 450 for a serious crisping of the skin.  Maybe I am missing something here and need to change my approach.

You've got a deal, I'm off to the store for some more wings and I need to order some more MRC while I'm at it. :P
