Shot a 20 1/2 pound - 11 inch beard - 1 1/4 spurs yesterday morn.
Brined the bird for 18 hours in game changer brine then rubbed with olive oil and no other seasoning.
Don't no how bird gonna turn out cause it has no skin and I'm getting it mounted.
No good pics of bird dead cause it was pouring rain and he flopped around in muddy field and had to wash him off.

I never remember seeing wild turkey growing up, but now they are everywhere. Are they hard to hunt? They must have a natural predator who isn't keeping up.
-
Well just like anything I believe in right place right time. But good decoys and knowing how to call helps a lot. And you have to put some time in.
As for predators I'm not sure. I always thought maybe coyotes. I took out a coyote last week at 408 yards with a 270.

Nice congrats to her! Well no pics of the turkey after it was done cause there was 13 of us tearing into it.
It was a little dry cause it didn't have the skin on but the flavor from the brine and charcoal was out of this world. The one buddy said it was the best turkey he has ever had.

Nice shot on the bird and the yote. How long was the turkey in your PB?
-
I had turkey on for 4 hours running at around 300 degrees.
-
Very nice, I've only cooked domestic ones in the pb.....they always come out juicy though.
