My older daughter, Emma - you've seen here cooking on this forum - plays fast pitch softball. She is 16 and plays at the 18 level because we didn't have enough players for a 16U team this year. The benefit is she gets to play with her 18 year old cousin - we always hoped this could happen. This is kind of a pick up team of girls that just want to play.
Tonight they played in a town about 40 miles away. I didn't get to go - was with my younger daughter's team. So, my wife went with Emma. When they came home they had a great story and made me wish I could have been there...
In the 2nd game of the double header our team was down by 2. Last of the last inning... 2 outs... runners on 1st and 2nd... yeah you know where this is going... Emma (her nickname is Bummer) came up. Count is 2 and 2... she lofts one deep into center field - over the head of the center fielder and over the fence. Her first over the fence homerun. She has had in the park homers where she outran the throws, even a "grand slam", but this is her first legit over the fence home run.
I am so happy for her - she was pretty excited!

Perfect time to have one too! Must have been a joy, and a shot! This also coming from someone who has never hit it over the fence...

I bet you are proud. Sounds like a movie ending too.

Thanks, everyone. She kinda played it as - "yeah that's what ya do..." But she was pretty jazzed and I am very happy for her.
