King of the Smoker should be on your bucket list if you have not been there.
This year we even won a BPS drum smoker

Great pics, Jim! It looks like there were some top notch competitors there. WOW, you even managed to get Sterling (Big Poppa) and Myron in the same pic! ;D
How did you win the BPS drum smoker?
-
Raffle ticket on the smoker. The pic of Sterling and Myron was during them cutting up entertaining the crowd.
-
Very cool. Need to try and go next year.
-
It starts at 1 PM so easy to make the drive about 2 to 2.5 hours. We also stop at the malls.

So, I just made the connection randomly looking for separate things, but I have just connected the dots that "Big Poppa" from BPS is Sterling. As in Sterling Ball. As in the heir to the Ernie Ball "Music Man" guitars/basses/strings legacy. https://www.music-man.com/bfr/april-2018 (https://www.music-man.com/bfr/april-2018)
Two great companies.
It was this picture that gave me a confused sensation when looking for bass guitars. I "knew" that smile from somewhere, and it hit me that it was Myron's SRF brisket video at KOTS.
