Title: Low Carb Tortilla Pizza
Post by: TMB on October 31, 2019, 11:50:35 AM
Was talking with TentHunter a few weeks back and he told me he had used tortillas in place of reg pizza crust.    Well I have to say these are wonderful!!

can't wait to try these in my Onni outdoor oven

Each tortilla is 6 carbs and about 2 carbs for the sauce (for the whole pizza)

Taste very much like a cracker crust pizza

Yep, the first time we did these I immediately thought of you, Tommy!

I've always preferred a thicker crust, but have to admit that I'm starting to like thinner pizza crusts more and more, since they're more low-carb friendly, and these really do turn out very good.

Are those just regular tortillas?  Flour or Corn?

They are low-carb flour tortillas. They are super high fiber, low carb, and taste just like regular flour tortillas!  You can find them in your local grocery store.   Look for "La Banderita - Carb Counter" or "Mission - Carb Balance".

I use them for all sorts of things as an easy way to cut back on carbs.

I had some leftover regular pizza, 3 slices pepperoni/sausage and 2 slices of my wife's 4 cheese.  I use Missions's carb Balance, so seemed like a great time to try this.  Placed my stone in the oven at 500, scrapped the toppings off the leftovers and onto to  the two stacked torts.  Used some extra pizza sauce and a  little extra grated parm cheese we always have on hand.  5 minutes on the stone.  Of course, scarfed 'em down before photos.  But I can tell you, these were GREAT!  Crispy, but not too crackery in texture or flavor.  This is soooo easy, very low carb and tasty as heck.
