Title: BEESR Chicken quarters
Post by: Sam3 on May 08, 2013, 06:11:42 AM
Spent the weekend turkey hunting with my Cousin in PA and came home on Sunday afternoon. Wife was having dinner with friends, so I defrosted some clucky for a quick dinner.

Painted the parts with Mayo and gave them a generous coating of Savor Spices Mo Rockin Chicken under the skin and on top.

Everyone in the pool!

Set it to high and went about doing some things around the house. Pulled the meat when it hit 170.

Plated with some Rabbit food.

Chicken was very moist and the skin had a nice bite to it. Mo Rockin Chicken is very good. Give it a try yourself.  ;)
Nice simple Sunday meal.

I like the color that mayo gave to the chicken. Going to have to give this a try soon.

WOW, I would have never in a million years thought about putting mayo on chicken prior to seasoning. i will now, great color.

But I have one quesstion, went on a turkey hunt, came home, and had to thaw some chicken.... not a good day hunting?  J/K! thanks for the pics and suggestion on the mayo

Looks Great SAM3... what was the Internal Temp when you pulled them from the BEESR?  I too am anxious to start using the BEESR now that Spring is here (Although Spring is short-lived this year here in Iowa. It didn't arrive until Sunday, May 5th, and it is all done with by Monday, May 13th...Summer rolls in next week, expecting 95* on Tuesday) ::)

Don, I pulled them at 170. I left the probe in the thigh while it was resting and it climbed 4 more degrees.

Sam, you said you dropped 'em in, set on high and walked away till they hit 170. Lid up or down?

Lid down. I used the Maverick ET-732 w/remote to keep an eye on the temps.

Yea, it's a neat trick. Your chicken came out real nice in your earlier post today, I'm going to try a whole bird soon.
