BEESR (Ele-Big Easy) as a grill
« Reply #-1 on: February 11, 2013, 09:37:02 PM »
CharBroil won't sell a grill grate for the BEESR so I got the new GrillGrate that's made for the Weber Little Smokey grill.

They work rather well I'd say

No these were made for the Weber Little Smokey grill.  I'll get you the part number and post it.

They work very well so far.    Here is the link to get this GrillGrate       http://www.mygrillgrate.com/product_p/rwsj.htm

I'm going to work on getting GrillGrates as a site sponsor

Tommy, you just about have me convinced on a BEESR, with grill grates.

Couple of questions?
How many chicken wings can you cook at one time?
How many baked potatoes?
Max size on a turkey is 16 lbs?
Max Butt is 8 lbs?
What other accessories do you recommend for it?

Thanks, & your write ups are excellent

Well, wings I have only cooked once and was able to do about 36 if I remember right.  To be honest, I use my SRG's (I own two of them) I get a lot more wings with them

As for butts, you can cook two 8 lbs butts at one time. One in the basket and one on the top shelf.
You should be able to do 6 to 8 spuds in the BEESR, but mor if you use smaller spuds an the leg racks will add more space

Accessories??  I would get the leg racks, this way you can use them as half racks and for hanging chicken legs.
Turkey size?  16 lb is what they tell you but you can go as high as 19 if you use a fryer stand/rod. The basket limits you to size but the stand/rod lets you get a bigger bird in the chamber

If you need more info ask, hope this helped

Tommy,

That looks great! I agree these grates probably improve the performance of almost any grill. I was thinking that they need to make more custom grates, but then thought (million dollar idea) they should sell maybe three sizes and a template for most grills on the market. You put the template on the proper size "blank" and custom cut for your grill - like Dr. Scholl's for your shoes...  ;D

Your right, custom fit would be much better but then figure how many grills that are out there and the number becomes
way to high I would think.

Now I would love it if they made round grates so there are no open areas on the grill and one piece would be better than sections holding together by a lip.

When I first called Brad at GG the first question I asked was "Do you make round grates"?  Cause I have an idea!  LOL
