Shish kabobs SRG vs Beesr
« Reply #-1 on: September 24, 2013, 12:35:41 AM »
We love shish kabobs at my house. My wife cuts everything up and marinades overnight. Then painstakingly builds perfect kabobs and all I have to do is not ruin them by under or over cooking them. I used to cook them on my old gasser but not anymore since I discovered infrared cooking. I have the luxury of owning both the SRG and the Beesr, but which one cooks better kabobs? Let's find out.

Loaded the beesr

Then the SRG

The SRG finished first but the beesr wasn't too far behind.
The one on the left is from the SRG. The one on the right is from the Beesr

They were both really good. I like a little char on my veggies so I liked the SRG kabobs the best, but others liked the more tender meat produced by the beesr. It's just a matter of personal preference.
This was the first time using the kabob holders and I really like them. Makes it pretty easy as I don't have to worry about trying to flip the darn things like I have to on a conventional grill. Just drop em in and monitor IT.  Both cookers performed flawlessly and I'm really happy with the outcome.

Nice side by side comparison. The SRG has more horsepower than the BEESR and it shows with the cook time and veggie char.

I would take either plate and not complain ;)

Good looking kabobs.

Muebe is right the SRG is a more powerful cooker then the BEESR but both do a very good job and both have there places in the cooking universe.

Looks great - I've been looking for an excuse to get the accessory kit for the SRG, and now's it  ;D

I purchased an accessory kit from amazon for my beesr which should arrive this week.  The pictures show two different styles of kabob racks...so I'm not sure which I'll get.  I'll post up a review/pictures after they arrive.

Here's a link to the kit:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BN9UOP8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cost was $21 with free shipping....considerably less than buying all these pieces from charbroil direct.
