Title: B&D Died
Post by: Big Dawg on March 06, 2019, 02:52:54 PM
My Black & Decker Toaster Oven finally died, at least the top element, so the "Toaster" part died anyway.  So now I've got a 12"x16"x16" (deep/wide/tall) space on my counter top that needs to be filled.  So, I jumped on the ole Amazon and found this one (https://www.amazon.com/Toaster-Slice-Multi-function-Stainless-Steel/dp/B078SD1JT8/ref=sr_1_6?crid=SK5FACAGM29J&keywords=toaster+ovens+best+rated+prime&qid=1551900916&s=gateway&sprefix=toas%2Caps%2C176&sr=8-6#customerReviews), which is basically what I have now, easily fits within the budget, and appeared to be highly rated.

Then I did little bit more digging in a effort to expand my options and came across this one (https://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-TOA-60-Fryer-Toaster-Silver/dp/B01K0W8LTE/ref=sr_1_13?crid=2QQFDT26UKNEO&keywords=air+fryer&qid=1551901186&s=gateway&sprefix=air%2Caps%2C178&sr=8-13).  It's a little taller, but would still fit under my cabinets, and pricey.  But it was the only Air Fryer i saw that also does everything a toaster oven does.  BUt there's no point in spending the extra money if Air Fryer part isn't worth it.

So, I was hoping that one you may have some experience with this unit or one like like it as I do not have the counter space for both a traditional toaster oven and standard Air Fryer.

I have the Cuisinart Air Fryer/Toaster Oven, great appliance.  I have posted many cooks using it on this page:

Very versatile, toaster, oven, convection oven, broiler, convection broiler, air fryer.....has a heavy wire basket, tray and toaster rack.

I have had the B&D's and one Mueller over the years. Short life on all of them. The Mueller was very cheaply made. Being just 2 of us, we use a countertop oven quite a bit. I finally splurged and got the Breville countertop with Air Fryer. Fastest warmup time I've ever seen. Temp and timer controls are spot on. Being a Bread baker, I use it's proofing mode as well as baking a couple 2 lb. loaves in it. Air Fryer works well. Not worth the cost for some, but worth it to me.

I got the Breville BOV900BSS and it works very well. I really don't "Air Fry" much but its handy when I want too. I do however use this oven 4 + times week. Nothing goes in the big oven that will fit in this.  It heats up quick and cooks efficiently..  We found it on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond $60 off. There is a fancy wood cutting board that will fit on top if so inclined.
I almost forgot about the feature but it dehydrates too.
