I haven't done a turkey in years in the SRG. Have a 14lb. Would you recommend using an injection? If so, what?

As for injections - I tend to lean toward "the classics" as far as turkey goes...clarified butter ( ghee) , powdered garlic, finely ground thyme, basil, rosemary, - those kinds of flavors. You can substitute turkey stock for the butter - and it is easier to deal th....then add some butter tot he bird...

I inject my turkey. Two sticks butter mixed with my favorite rub and simmer them together for a few mins. Let cool a little then inject 3/4 of it all over the bird and then cook. Use the remaining butter for a final coating when you just about ready to let it rest

Here is a two stick turkey I made at one of the cookouts in Georgia

My finished product. Came out moist and delish! Injected with a Savory Rum Butter and put a store bought dry rub on it. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201126/abd66c1a73dfc8e198359bc7821a3785.jpg)
