hot cold spots

Does the SRG have hot and cold spots? Starting at the bottom of the basket to the top. Is top of basket hotter than the bottom. If this the case I/you can use the racks inside the basket for meat placement.

YES it does, reason I made the Tommy Ring.  I used it to raise up the basket to get it out of the dead zone I call it

The first 1/4 of the chamber does not seem to get hot like the upper 3/4 so when you cook try to stay above the the first 4 or 5 inches off the bottom of the basket if possible.   Use those half racks !!! LOL
