Title: Longtime lurker
Post by: scottv on January 10, 2015, 04:42:21 PM
I've finally decided to stop lurking and make an account. Here are some of my pit barrel cooks.  The first thing that I made was a pork butt(http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/10/26c9e071bb822d274758fc26aa62a850.jpg)(http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/10/063e139171e2acd463588b526b0c1a5c.jpg)

Chickens are always great

Ribs

I was amazed on how great a turkey comes out. I've made two a #13 and #20. (http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/10/3c9f759cf1c17191ef2503386818b754.jpg)(http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/10/0c53aeac8030b155f638ba42dbb0fbfd.jpg) the flavor was throughout out the meat and nothing was dry

Scottv, not much of a turkey guy myself, but the PBC would probably do it a little differently...I should give it a try!  How long did it cook?

Elsos. I believe the 20 pound turkey took about 6 hours and the 13 pound around 4. I used hickory chips on both and blacks BBQ rub. Both had flavor throughout the meat and was a night and day difference from an oven turkey or even a fried turkey
