Big pork loin ?

I'm cooking an almost 8 pound pork loin for a group of folks tonight. If I hang it vertically it will almost touch the coals. The is my first cook and I am leery of doing that. Can I hang it so that the meat is horizontal? How long should the cook take on a piece of meat that size? Thanks.

I've done one Pork Loin ( not near that big ) but like my pork butt, I've always put it on the grate. You could double hook it horizontally I would imagine if you wish, I know some do that with ribs across two re-bars.

When I do the really large whole pork loins I typically cut it in half and then hang them.
