Title: Newer Model!
Post by: Bluecham on December 31, 2020, 12:13:39 PM
I have been obsessed with looking on FB Marketplace for a new SRG. I have replaced my drum, baskets, and ignitor on my unit and the lid is falling off and now the grill top has fallen apart.  Well, today it paid off. Brand new (used 1x) SRG right down the road for $75, with a propane tank! His wife told him he had to clean things out of the garage. I had to convince my wife that spending $75 on a new unit instead of $65 on needed parts was a better option!(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201231/9118cfec7dcc5934494c8112b92a2b5e.jpg)

I bought 1 full assembled and never been use about 3 weeks ago for $75.  Base on my experience with Char Broil in the past, the quality isn't there.  They tend to rust 1-2 years so I reasoned both inside and outside with the turkey frying oil (peanut &  soy bean oil mix).

I still have both my units which are the first units out and one is actually a pre-production model that was sent to early in 2009.

Other than having to have a little bit of welding on one chamber mine have been bulletproof (and I have abuse the heck out of them)

You just need to keep them oiled and covered or keep in a shed out of the weather if possible.
