Title: Cast Iron Skillet
Post by: Bluecham on May 06, 2021, 08:33:45 PM
I've tried the cast iron skillet several times on my SRG. It just doesn't seem to get hot enough to be worth it. Anyone else use it?(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210507/f6d01728e5710071c3641eeaeba43248.jpg)

I do  ;). Better check the valve sounds like it’s not letting the unit get hot enough.   This valves are known to stick

I do as well but not with the grate. TMB posted a link years ago of one from academy sports I believe.  Works great.

This one is has to sit on the grate as it is smaller than the opening. I wonder if it is for the big easy, not SRG.

You may be right about the size; mine covers the entire opening except for the slots.  I do not use the grate underneath and mine gets plenty hot.

Last November I used my 22" CI on my SiL's SRG to make a big pile of paella and it got plenty hot.
