I have one of the original test units - I really like it. I am sure with the improvements it's going to be even better. Look forward to seeing what you make.

So far...four lb. butt was the best we've ever had--restaurant or elsewhere. Used about two cups of hickory pellets. Ran two pre-brined chickens through yesterday--they were very good, but I missed the crisp skin from the SRG. Smoke flavoer was much better than in the SRG, but I ran them a little warm for the smoke to really have time to permeate without overcooking.

I'm thrilled with the unit. The controls aren't the most user friendly, but it's a solid performer. Two thumbs up.

Next up--brisket and another butt....and maybe some ribs for good measure!

So any updates on new smoker?  How do you like it, is it performing like you'd like etc. 

Just interested to see how it's going, may want to add it to collection.  I'm concerned about it being electric versus gas, never had electric.

While I have the prototype, I have to say I really like it. I use it on a regular basis. The major problem, being an electric, is unless you have a covered area, it can't be used in the rain or snow.

Quite happy with the purchase. It's best doing large cuts for hours and less impressive smoking small proteins like chops. The pulled pork is perfection. Thanksgiving brined turkey was also a standout. I've used pecan chips and hickory both with great results.

It does take considerable time to get the smoke rolling, but when it does, it's good for 6 hours or so without needing to refill. Temp probe is a lifesaver.

Like it so much, the last several cooks have been on the smoker, so my SRG is feeling a bit jealous....

Thanks for the replies about the new CB electric smoker.   I asked after Thanksgiving about it as opposed to either Masterbuilt or Bradley.    Have always been a CB user, so leaned toward this one, BUT, it being new there were some NOT so good reviews.   That having been said, think that's they way I'm going.   In no hurry, so will wait and see IF CB runs a special on them again, or Amazon might make a special deal on it.   Get a 20% off offer from CB fairly often.   Besides, it's a little bit inclement to break one in at this stage--another "blue norther" coming in tomorrow, hopefully not as much snow as last time, which caused BIG drifts.    Took five days to get the garage dug out!   Any more comments on this one or the others will be appreciated.
