My SRG went out in a ball of smoke! After picking up 6lbs of St. Luis ribs on sale from Publix for $2. 99/lb, I rubbed them with Jan's rub and set them in the bottom of the rack for 30 minutes on low.
I then planned on finishing them up on the grate so I set it on high and went to grab a nice cold one....
We'll, a few minutes later I noticed smoke billowing out. The bottom of the barrel had fallen out and the inside had caught on fire! I was able to salvage the ribs and finish them up on my regular grill with a nice coat of BBQ sauce.
The best 4th of July meal we have had yet! Now to find a new barrel...
