Just wanted to drop by and introduce myself. I am a 10 yr transplant in So Cal from the great state of NC where bbq is isn't just a food...it's a "religion" Those from NC know what I'm talking about. Is it vinegar based, light sauce based, mustard based. It's a debate that will go on forever. Regardless it ALL good
I am A backyard bbq'r, been cooking for a while now. In NC it was whole hogs on a drum trailer and sitting up all night with good friends and a good cold one. Now that I'm in CA I've changed up a bit use to space requirements but have found its not much different! Between the pellet grill, pit barrel and Weber I stay busy. Am looking forward to learning much more from everyone here and hopefully sharing what little I know. Let's face it...Its addictive! And what other hobby provides food, friendship and fun at the same time! Thanks for having me!

Welcome from another NC transplant in VA! Everyone was just joking me today about my passion for smoked meat! Also don't forget about our love of the deep fried!
-
The great thing about BBQ, is that the meat in the smoker has no idea what state it is in :) :)

Welcome from Houston.

Looks like you've found the right bunch of folks to hang out with ;D. Hope you'll jump right in and participate.

Every February the California BBQ Association has a Q fest in San Dimas. That's not too far from West Covina. You should try to join us next year.

Is Thom still the head honcho over there?

That aint too far for us to come down the mountain for.
Maybe we can set up a informal LTBBQ So-Cal member gathering next Feb??

Smoke,
I think it would be a great idea to have a LTBBQ sub group at the QFest. I haven't seen you since you left the area.
I usually see Thom at the QFest, but he's not the president any more.
