I got a batch of kraut on for my New Year's Day good luck dinner, pork and kraut. It will be done Dec. 16 and have a couple of weeks to mellow in the fridge.
Pam if you haven't started better get it on. :)

I'm ahead of you Don..I did 26#'s of sauerkraut last month..it is ready..I have been sharing as I got all the cabbage for free this year. Been eating it in everything, I like it straight from the jar..so does Maci. Enjoy..I think I have about 16 quart jars put up. .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

Just took out a batch last week because you have to have sauerkraut with your turkey and gravy for Thanksgiving. It's the law.

Never heard that one Turtle! :) I never had it with turkey but sounds good! Don

I think it may have originally been kind of a Baltimore thing but regardless of origin, sauerkraut (with or without gin & caraway) goes very nicely on a plate with turkey, dressing, and mashed potatoes - all covered with gravy of course. I also like it in leftover turkey, dressing, and gravy sandwiches or casseroles.

That sounds good to me..might take mine, dressigng, sauerkraut, chunks'o turkey and taters and mix it up and put in a waffle iron, then pour gravy all over it..waiting for leftovers already. .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.
