Title: Shaken, not stirred!
Post by: akjeff on December 02, 2018, 10:17:40 AM
Well, the MAK 2 Star survived our 7.0 shaker just fine! Friday was a bit hectic, with lots of aftershocks, so no grilling going on then, but things settled down Saturday, so we grilled up some moose/bacon burgers. Mixed already cooked/chopped bacon bits in with the meat, and grilled them. Melted gorgonzola on top at the end, and topped with sautéed onions and shrooms. Side of steamed broccoli. The MAK fired right up, and worked great like always!

First, very glad to hear that the MAK survived... oh yeah, and you to... lol.

Second, that is one heck of a delicious low carb meal right there... NICELY done! :)

Glad to hear you are safe and it will take more than a 7.0 to bother a MAK  8)

Thanks everyone! Another calm day here. Still a number of little tremors, but most can't even be felt. Can't believe there were no injuries or fatalities. Very fortunate.

Bad time of year for Alaska to have some damage as with the short "days" and cold temps its pretty difficult to fix any infrastructure damage.  Glad to hear you're alright.

What's moose like?

Fortunately, our temps have been average or warmer. Would have been ugly, had it happened in the midst of a below zero cold snap. Our highway crews are kicking butt, and repairing the tore up roads pronto.

Moose is kinda like spotted owl............sorry, couldn't resist! When well cared for(and this one was), I find it tastes like any quality red meat. Think beef, with a little really good lamb mixed in. No "gaminess" whatsoever. We love it!

Glad to hear the road crews are working in over drive, I wish PennDOT (Pennsylvania) was the same.

I like lamb, so lamb flavored beef sounds amazing
