So, when you crank up the MAK for grilling over the flamezone do you keep the lid open or closed?
I have always closed the lid.
Curious what you all do.

Closed 100% of the time. There are a few pellet grills on the market that’ll let you set the controller to bypass the RTD probe... allowing for open lid grilling (Memphis is one of them)... but the MAK’s Pellet Boss controller does not offer this option.
Plus, just think of all that smoky goodness you’ll be giving up by grilling with the lid open...

Closed always, for me.

Lid closed as much as possible for me. Obviously it'll be open while you're adding & flipping food, otherwise I try to keep it closed.
