Title: Sous Vide Novice
Post by: nukeofficer on January 28, 2020, 08:06:31 PM
Well, I pulled the trigger and entered the world of Sous Vide.
I'm a complete novice when it comes to this style of cooking so I'm seeking advice and tips on how to use this new device.

I have been a member on this site for a few years now and the folks on here have always been friendly and helpful so I decided to seek advice from here first.

Thank you in advance.

I've had a sous vide for over a year and I love it.  It's great for making chicken and pork chops (no more wondering if it's under-cooked or over-cooked), as well as for hamburgers and steaks.  I have a Joule which is run by an app on my phone.  You can use the app to get temperatures and cooking times for whatever you want to cook.  It's very easy to navigate and it'll work without having the product.  I believe other sous vide companies also have apps that do the same.  I also learned a lot by watching Guga on the YouTube channel Sous Vide Everything.

Congrats on entering the Sous Vide world! I have had mine for several years now and use it a lot. I agree with KJRsmoker about watching Guga on Sous Vide Everything. He is a master when it comes to cooking Sous Vide. We also have a section dedicated to Sous Vide cooking here:

Some awesome cooks and techniques to follow.

I got this email from Meat Church today. I found this recipe in their list.
