Thank you for allowing me in to the community.  Ive yet to post anything but have been looking through the site and have applied many tips that have been passed along between other users.  Im am new to this sits and new to BBQ cooking.   I'm born and raised in the heart of Kansas City and have enjoyed some of the best BBQ made. I just wish i could cook something that somewhat resembles what I've eaten . My intent is to read posts and ask questions so that i get better.  Its very obvious there are some phenomenal cooks on this site and i hope to pick there brain.  Like I said, born and raised in KC, huge sports fan (Royals, Chiefs, Kansas State Wildcats).  Thanks again and i look forward to getting involved.

I just recently purchased a Pit Barrel cooker. (PBC)  I used to use a smokey mountain electrical smoker but was running in to mechanical issues and it was time to switch.  Ive only made a few cooks on it and had mixed results.  This evening i cooked a brisket for the first time ever and it came out a little dry.  Was going to search the forum for some additional tips.

Welcome from So-Cal.  Sorry to hear about your brisket. Not all briskets are created equal. Your next one you do will probably be a home run  :)

Thanks Sparky, I do have a weberQ gas grill but have never tried to smoke on it.  I just purchased the PBC for fathers day and am really interested in this unit.  Ive done a couple of cooks with mixed results.  Mostly operator/cook error.

i hear you.  I had to doctor it up.  I ended up chopping it up and adding lots of sauce.  It was a little intimidating so I may work on some other stuff before trying another.

Bryan,
Welcome from a PBC owner in North Carolina.

Art
Hello Art, thanks for reaching out.  Im new to this forum but wanted to know if there was a specific forum for those who own the PBC?

It appears that LTBBQ has become the de facto forum.  We had a number of current members buy PBC's very early on.  Amber and Noah became sponsors early in their successful venture.  A lot of new PBC owners have found this forum.  With all the different types of grills and cooking devices, there is a lot to learn and apply to cooking on the PBC.  Ask questions.  You will get some really good advice here.
