Smoking temp question
« Reply #-1 on: January 14, 2019, 07:38:14 AM »
Hey want to do some smoked salmon/lox and it calls for a cold smoke . Is their any rule of thumb for like if you have the set point at a certain temp the warmer box would be a certain temp. I don t have a thermometer probe yet for air temp. Also if I used an amazing tube in main chamber would the warmer box receive additional smoke as well. I really want to make this if possible in the mak . Thanks

Use the tube in the main chamber of your MAK and don't turn it on.  Even on the smoke setting the MAK will get too warm to cold smoke.  You want to stay under 90 degrees for cold smoking.

If you set the grill on "Smoke" set point the warmer box will run around 80-100 degrees depending on the weather for cold smoking.
