Greetings from Chapel Hill, NC
« Reply #-1 on: November 24, 2013, 08:54:14 PM »
I'm from Chapel Hill and an avid UNC Tar Heel fan.  It's been a good weekend for anyone whose favorite color is Carolina Blue.  Yesterday, the football team scored 80 points and had their 5th straight win after a 1-5 start.  Today, the Heels, who were beaten by Belmont eaqrlier this week(can you believe that) beat #3 Louisville.  Enough about sports...this is a cooking forum.  I have been a casual backyard cook over the years using a gas grill and a Weber kettle charcoal grill.  About 10 years ago I started frying a turkey at Thanksgiving.  A week ago, I bought the Char Broil Big Easy because I was tired of the mess and expense of the oil turkey fryer and have spent a lot of time this week reading the forums.  I was referred to this site by TMB.  After realizing that TBE can be used for more than just cooking chicken or turkey, I am sure it will be used much more than just once a year, which is what happened with the fryer.  I look forward to being an active participant.

Welcome from Southern California.

I have two Big Easy's myself. One on natural gas and the other on propane for when I am camping. You are going to find that your Big Easy is great for making more than Turkey ;)

Great to have you with us. We have some of the ( if not THE…) most experienced Big Easy and SRG owners and nodders anywhere. And, as you have probably looked around the site and noticed - we don't have a brand or type f cooker restriction or  prejudice. If you can cook on it - or want to learn how, no matter what it is…I will be we have folks here that will enjoy helping you.

Best group in the internet. Because they are all the best folks in their home towns too ;)….And I will bet you fit right in.

Welcome!
