Title: A beautiful thing to see
Post by: TMB on July 18, 2015, 09:49:36 PM
Been trying to grow these habaneros for the past two years with less than satisfactory results, but this year has been great!

I will smoke these,  dehydrate them then grind for rubs.  Going to be a HOT summer! ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Tommy, those look great!

Can you send me some?  I'd love to cook something seasoned with habaneros...not to eat it - heck I can't take the heat - this would be to serve to a couple of guys I want to get even with.

just sayin'...

Plant looks very happy Tommy!

I used to make death dust myself. Smoke, dehydrate, and grind.

Just one word of caution... Never dehydrate them indoors ???  The fumes will knock you out!

And the spice grinder I use can only serve that purpose after. And never grind indoors either.

Well I did figure out that grinding peppers can be a good and bad thing.     I will smoke and dehydrate them outdoors in the Bradley then grind outside with a mask, fan blowing the "the dust" away  ;) and gloves on

Back in a my kitchen days a busboy thought he could eat anything hot, so on a slow day we gave him a habanero.  He spent the rest of the shift in the walk in with a gallon of milk, he turn bright red, bloodshot eyes, and couldn't stop sweating.  Those are looking to be some good eats.  Pickle some too!

Tommy..be sure and do this OUTSIDE,,dehydrating included..I cut mine in half, they dehydrate faster, then use a dedicated grinder outside and downwind. also use gloves. Enjoy, I do this with jalapenos too..got some ghost peppers and might do some of them too..good luck.  .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.
