Best Dirty Martini In The World
3 oz. Premium Vodka
3 Lg. Pimento-Stuffed Olives
1 oz. Olive Juice
Cracked Ice
Bottle of Vermouth
Pour vodka and olive juice into shaker with ice.
Place Vermouth bottle next to shaker for 10 seconds.
Return Vermouth to cabinet.
Shake liquids vigorously.
Strain into frozen Martini glasses, garnish with olives.
Repeat as necessary.
Note: A bottle of vermouth should last forever unless you lose it. I’ve had mine since 1968.

That sounds like the PERFECT Martini to me. I make them just like that and it has to be the big olives too. Pam ☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

A very good Dirty...I use either Garlic stuffed or Blue Cheese stuffed olives in mine.
-
Try it with jalapeno-stuffed olives!
My dad used to make his martinis by filling a shaker with ice and pouring in about an ounce of vermouth. Then he poured out the vermouth and added the gin!

The jalapeno stuffed olives are great but I don't like them in martinis..straight. I have a tiny Misto that I do 1 spray over the martining glass for when ya just gotta have a lil vermouth, I keep it in the frig. I have also been know to just marinade the big olives in liquor too. Just in case. Pam ☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

I love Dirty Martini's using gin or vodka. While I was in the Navy on submarines, my wife wanted to have a treat ready for our first meal together. She took a jar of olives, poured all the juice out and filled it with gin. I was gone for 58 days. By the time I got home they were well pickled! They were most difficult to eat by themselves because they were so gin-soaked. The problem was they lost their olive flavor. So I drank a Dirty Martini with olives that no longer tasted like olives!

Sounds like the perfect problem to me Art ;D! You defeated it by drinking it.
I have a couple of "party drinks" I offer;
Power Driver: Like a screw driver - but with moon-shine in lieu of vodka ;)
Phillips Screw Driver: For those with digestive issues....vodka and Milk of Magnesia ;D

Not a martini, but I occasionally like a nice Orgasm (the drink) made with equal shots of Kahlua, Ammaretto and Bailey's, add a shot of vodka and you have a Screaming Orgasm.
Add a couple of "rufies" and you get a new drink....Is it called a "Prison Sentence" ;D ;D ;D ;D

I am not much of a drinker. The drink can't really taste like liquor. Has to be one of the girly drinks with lots of fruit type flavor; however, that martini does sound good.
That 'orgasm' drink would kill me. :o

Susie, it tastes like melted ice cream.

While I was in NOLA this last week, I sampled several Sazerac drinks. The first one I had was a real eye opener for me. different combination of flavors than I am used to consuming. The second and third (not all on the same day) were better each time. The last two were at Emerill's NOLA (really good) and Commander's Palace (out of the park). I was told that the very best in NOLA was at the Sazerac Bar. Didn't get there this trip. I brought some of the special bitters home, but will have to locate the rest of the ingredients around here to try to make my own.
My wife thinks they taste like cough syrup. I don't! The last two could get you in serious trouble because they are so smooth.

Tell Maureen that I think I have a cough coming on and I am willing to come to your house for medication....... ;D

After a couple of days with my arm in this d@mn sling, I may need some cough syrup myself.
The surgery was successful. The doctor removed the bone spurs and had to repair thr rotator cuff the best he could with what was left. I guess I'll never throw a fast ball again (for the first time). Once I recover fully, I should be able to resume cooking and fishing. Man, this typing with my left hand is sure slow and full of errors that need to be corrected.

Glad to hear Art! I wanted to call - but did not want to bother you or the Mrs.
Welcome to my left handed world! ;D let me know if I can do anything to help. I am good at opening barley pop bottles ;)

Reminder: pain medication and martinis DO NOT mix -- it has to be one or the other. Sort of like the old camp motto, "Clean mind, clean body, take your pick."
