How to Carve a Turkey
« Reply #-1 on: November 11, 2014, 07:21:18 AM »
I did a search but could not find the video anywhere on the forum. I've seen it before and I think it is one of the best examples on how to carve a turkey and makes it look real easy.

I was with him until he pulled the skin off.  HERESY, I say!  I didn't work on developing a crispy skin just to peel it off.  If the blade dulls a little, I just drag it across the steel a couple times.

Okay, truth be known I do keep a smallish pile of random skin pieces off to the side of the serving tray.  But I do try to leave as much skin with the meat as I can.

But I pretty much carve my bird the way he demonstrates.

I think I have not been cutting the white meat against the grain. I will pay closer attention tomorrow.

I have to agree about the skin. I just saw him on Fox and he pulled back the skin just enough to get the knife in and left the rest on.

This is one of the best demos I have seen for carving a bird. I saved it.
Thanks for posting.
