I attended the Fall Gathering with Tee. With a full truck and a trailer packed to the gills, there was only room for the two of us in the cab. We looked like the Beverly Hillbillies, minus the rocker and Granny on the roof!! I had a really great time meeting all the folks who attended. The food was fantastic. Tommy's breaded cube steaks were a keeper. I will be doing them at home. His surprise dish (BBQ'd goat) was very tasty, too. Tee's Cuban pork was off-the-charts. We talked about that on the way home. All it needed was a bowl of black beans and some fried plantains, with a nice cold cerveza on the side. Pam's donuts were wonderful. I am already making plans to do them at home. Dee's Brusnwick stew was some of the best I have had. Terry's shrimp and sausage were great. The surprise chocolate birthday cake from Donna was, well, a surprise. She made it using mayonnaise. I had two pieces. When Rick showed up, I really felt at home. I blame him for getting me hooked making my own sausage and curing meats. It was like old home week with him there. I was able to spend some quality time with most everyone that attended. Our Saturday night BS session ended up in a laughfest. I can't wait until the next one.
